Therapy for folks with big feelings and worriers
You’re probably coming to therapy because something isn’t working for you anymore and you’re not satisfied with how you feel. Maybe you worry all the time—about things that haven’t happened yet and about events that have already occurred. Or, you might feel like your emotions are out of control—maybe you’re crying all the time, or perhaps you're lashing out in frustration or anger at those around you. You might feel unsure about who you really are, or what you want from life. Maybe you’ve even tried therapy in the past, but it didn’t really help you in the long term. If any of these sound familiar, know that there is hope.
I specialize in longer-term therapy for folks who are ready to feel safer and more connected to themselves and others. In therapy, we build an authentic relationship where we can explore what’s coming up for you in your day to day life, in your past, and in the present with one another.
Teens and Adolescents
Strengths-based therapy for your teen or tween
Is your teen struggling with a transition, like starting middle school or high school? Do they feel insecure or lack confidence? Are they feeling overwhelmed by academic or extracurricular demands? Are you feeling unsure of how to help support them as they start to push you away?
From meeting academic expectations to fulfilling extracurricular responsibilities, from navigating the social scene at school to surviving the one online, teens are under a lot of stress even under the best of circumstances. (Often, life doesn’t grant the best of circumstances.) And—let’s be honest—your job of raising them isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Therapy can help continue the wonderful work you started with your child years ago, by nurturing and helping them come into their own in a confusing, hormone-riddled, scholastically-demanding time. (With an adult that they don’t feel the biological imperative to push away from. Which is normal, by the way. You’re doing just fine!)
Therapy for partners and family members
Couples
Do you love each other but feel like you’re speaking different languages? Do you wish your partner really understood what you were saying—and maybe what you’re not actually saying, too? Do you crave safe, emotional intimacy in your partnership?
A lot can come up when the people we love miss us. You both deserve to be seen, understood, and valued by one another, and therapy can help you safely explore and repair whatever’s getting in your way.
In therapy you will practice skills like deep listening and reflection, communicating your needs and boundaries, and keeping yourself grounded and regulated even when things feel tense. Couples therapy requires not just participation, but collaboration, compassion, and curiosity from both of you.
I’m a software product manager turned therapist who loves working with people who feel things really deeply. You are coming to therapy because something just isn’t working for you anymore and you’re not feeling your best. I bring a sense of coziness to therapy that will put you at ease while embodying a more direct therapeutic style. I will both gently challenge you and partner with you on your journey—wherever it takes you.
I am a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodivergent affirming therapist.
I see clients both in-person in Berkeley and online from anywhere in California.
